*Most vehicles manufactured after 1997 have a transponder chip key. A small number of Vehicle Years have a transponder in the key optionally. Hyundai/Kia vehicles made in the USA, do NOT have a transponder chip. However, with these vehicles if you have a flip key or proximity (push-button start), they still need to be programmed by a locksmith.
